Christmas is the time for giving, right? Completely disagree!

Christmas is the time for giving, right? Completely disagree! Everyday should be a day for giving however in the spirit of Christmas, a festival I totally love – not only due to the carols, gifts and feasts at Xmas it’s always been a tradition in my house lay out gifts below our tree!

So this year I got gifts from all over the world which I will share just so we can get some ethical presents into our loved ones stockings all through the year!

First on the list completely going with the Christmas theme are my socks from fazl!! Not only do they have a very Christmassy colour and print, they also feel so cozy and comfortable just as Christmas should! Handmade. Himalayan. Happy Ladies. The three H’s of Fazl socks. Women in our community handcraft all their socks and they provide them with fair wages for their work. Through collaborating with graduates from the children’s homes, they were introduced to many women who were financially struggling and possess the incredible skills necessary to create these socks! As if that wasn’t enough – every time you purchase a pair of Fazl Socks you are helping provide orphaned and destitute children in India with food, shelter, education, and clothing! https://shopfazl.com/

Second on the list is my favorite heart pendant from Seeme! Seemed theme is heart shaped pendants and the heart being my universal sign immediately attracted me to this brand! The necklace is made in Recycled Silver 800, plated in 24K Yellow Gold. Women based in Tunisia – North Africa, survivors of violence, make all their jewelry. They teach them the ancient art of jewelry making and they receive a monthly salary, to enable them to provide for themselves and their children. It takes approximately 1 hour’s work to make an Amira Necklace. https://seeme.org/

Since childhood I have somehow managed to spend most of my Xmas vacations on the beach! Even when I lived in Italy I travelled all the way back to India to go to Goa for my Xmas vacation and for any of you doing the same Aurai has an awesome red bikini for you to try! I loved the explanation of the brand name as well

In Greek mythology, the Aurai are the winged nymphs of the breezes that travelled all over the world through the sea carrying messages for the Gods. Like the Greek Aurai, they believe they can also carry an important message. AURAI is an eco & ethical swimwear brand propped up by an intimate flair with surf and beach culture and deep respect for nature, created by italo-brazilian designer Natalia Bertolo.  https://www.auraiswimwear.com/

Not too far from swimwear are my other recommended Xmas gifts, which I would love to receive, as they are an everyday use! A super star towel set from Kushel – perfect for daily use! They want to set a trend in the industry and prove that it is possible to deliver a superior product while giving back more resources to the earth than we use to produce it. By planting 2 trees for each towel and compensating the carbon emissions and blue-water usage of the towel production, they are hoping to become the first climate & resource positive textile brand.Kushel Towels are a perfect gift for a family member, a close friend or your loved ones. Contact them and we will send a printed postcard before Christmas! Ultra fluffy and super soft in my opinion! https://www.kushel.de/

We go on to apparel and Shipsheip sent me their Susan top, Made in Portugal their supply chain is 100% traceable & transparent! Everything is eco and fair and their different Production sites are close to each other to avoid CO2 emissions. Their dyeing works have wastewater treatment plants to make the water reusable. A very easy, comfortable extremely wearable top, easy to put into that stocking as well! https://www.shipsheip.com/

Last but not the least, Coorie Curls sent me two white vegan pillowcases as well as two hair scrunchies. !

Coorie Curls is a brand designed to be caring towards both curls and animals. We believe that there are wonderful vegan alternatives to the silk products recommended by curly hair enthusiasts all over the world. Because of this, we have developed a range of handmade, vegan hair products made of polyester satin, designed to slide easily over hair to reduce frizz and not disturb curl pattern . http://www.cooriecurls.com/

Let’s get some ethical gifts around town this year!
