A 2010 study, published in the scientific journal Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, used linguistic analysis software to measure the way 60 individuals discussed their homes. Women who described their living spaces as ‘cluttered’ or full of ‘unfinished projects’ were more likely to be depressed and fatigued than the women who described their homes as ‘restful’ and ‘restorative’. The researchers also found that women with cluttered homes expressed higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

February 18, 2019Christmas is the time for giving, right? Completely disagree! Everyday should be a day for giving however in the spirit of Christmas, a festival I totally love – not only due to the carols, gifts and feasts at Xmas it’s always been a tradition in my house lay out gifts below our tree!
So this year I got gifts from all over the world which I will share just so we can get some ethical presents into our loved ones stockings all through the year!
Conscious consumer demand for sustainable and ethically sourced products isn’t showing any signs of slowing down – and for good reason too.
This was a really fun article for me to write as it opened my eyes, to what you can and cannot call sustainable home ware! I got to review a bunch of products and have listed down my favorites and the most sustainable ones.
Approximately four years ago I was introduced to a practice called Nichiren Buddhism, wherein all the members pray for world peace. This practice works on the law of cause and effect –i.e. what you give, you get and what you sow, you reap! It included a lot of self-reflection and expressed that the only change one has to make, is to change you. Even though these changes were all very positive, it was difficult especially when I had to go out of my comfort zone.
