Never would I have ever imagined that I would be going to Stavanger! I have visited Oslo before in the month of February, which also happens to be in Norway, and which of course turned out to be the coldest year in 40 years.

We were waist deep in snow and although I am not used to or particularly fond of the snow, my Norwegian party girls insisted on us wearing stilettos. I was literally being dragged or carried during most of my trip. Anyhow this time, my trip was in September, so it was much more bearable.

 

 

My half Norwegian half Columbian ex roommate ( in Milan ) and one of my most favorite fashionistas, Glenda, was organizing the first ever fashion show in Stavanger- also known as Stavanger Fashion Nights. She invited me and I decided to showcase my Japanese Gardens collection- a resort wear limited edition collection inspired by a recent dive I did in Thailand.

 

My birthday happened to fall on one of the days whilst I was in Stavanger, so the celebrations included a chocolate and marshmallow cake – European style! And the icing on the cake was that one of my closest friends from my days in Milano- Elisabeth was joining us there as well. I am so thankful she was around as she did an amazing job helping me with fittings for the show!

 

Stavanger was peaceful, tiny and completely scenic. We only had a day to explore as preparation for the show took up most of our time but the air was something I will never forget. Born in Mumbai, I think that would have been the purest air I’ve ever breathed!

 

It was a houseful show ! Mine in particular had a talented songwriter and singer from Canada performing on the ramp alongside the models!
